When Porsche unveiled the 991 GT3 back in 2013 there was uproar as, for the first time, there was no manual gearbox option – how could Porsche not give its finest driver’s car three pedals and a stick? Porsche has learned from its mistakes. This is the all-new 992 GT3 and, as the above title suggests, we’ve been driving it, soaking up the glorious combination of rear-wheel-drive, 510PS (375kW) flat-six and six-speed manual ‘box.

You know it’s going to be a good day when there’s a GT car involved, made better by a near-cloudless sky and a number of empty, curvaceous roads. Is the 992, with its independent front suspension (because no one anywhere else has talked about it…), more sophisticated aero work and that flat-six worth the extra money over say a 992 Carrera GTS?
