Cult French sportscar brand Alpine is using the 2017 Retromobile to preview its much-anticipated new mid-engined sports coupe - due to debut later this year – with a ‘sneak preview’ of its Vision concept car, first seen at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Supporting the Vision on Alpine’s impressive Retromobile stand is an example of each of the Dieppe-based marque’s sporting model, all presented in gleaming white, ranging from the first – the Renault 4CV-based A106 ‘Coach’ of 1955, right through to the final production Alpine, the capable but poor-selling A610 of 1991.
These two bookends of Alpine’s history are joined by a late 1950’s A108, shown at Retromobile in rare Cabriolet form, plus the inevitable A110 Berlinette – the iconic World Rally Championship-winning Alpine, guaranteed to set the pulse of every French car enthusiast racing – plus a trio of the later ‘drop snoot’ models, the A310 of 1972, a 1985 GTA, plus that model’s successor, the A610.
With such a strong build-up, we can’t wait to see the launch of Renault’s actual production version of the Vision concept - rumoured to be tagged as the Alpine A120 – later this year.
