If you hadn’t noticed, we’re suckers for a GT1 car here at Goodwood towers. We’re all of that age where they’re the cars we grew up with, so we have a natural tendency to enjoy making content on them. On an unrelated note, today’s video is an onboard of a wonderful Panoz Esperante GTR-1, taking on Spa flat-out at the 2022 Spa Classic.

Thundering V8 power, a long bonnet and the Kemmel Straight are things that mix very nicely, as this video proves. It’s mostly clean running for our driver Olivier, though he does at points come across a Mosler and a 996 GT3 on the way through the chicane onto the start/finish, which he swiftly dispatches.
Being a GT car still, Eau Rouge is a lift with a bit of brakes but the pace it gathers on the following straight is astonishing, approaching 162mph before braking to turn into Les Combes. More traffic comes in the form of another 996 GT3, which is quickly dealt with round the outside of Pouhon.
