View the Goodwood Fleet
From glass-cockpit Cessnas to classic tailwheel aircraft
Goodwood has a fleet of six highly maintained aircraft - an historical Harvard, four state of the art Cessnas and "back to basics" flying experience from our Piper Super Cub.
Cessna 172S G-HLOB, G-LOOC, G-DBOD, G-NXOE
Our main training fleet consists of four identical Cessna 172s purchased in 2010. Whilst ours are a very modern version, the basic 172 design first flew in 1955 and has been produced in larger numbers than any other aircraft. It is therefore a very tried and tested machine and probably the most popular training aircraft in the world!
Our 172s are equipped with Garmin 1000 ‘glass cockpit’ avionics and full autopilot, providing scope for further training and comfortable touring. This also makes them a good starting point for those with Commercial flying aspirations, as glass cockpits increasingly become the norm in airliners and executive aircraft. Despite this, they are no more complex to operate for basic VFR flying than the traditional analogue equivalent.
The Cessna is ideal for your first taste of flying or if you are considering learning to fly. For a flight experience or Trial Lesson, you can bring a passenger to fly with you.

Piper L21B Super Cub G-DRGL
Our Cub was built in 1954 and started life with the Dutch Air Force, the ‘L’ designation indicating military specification. ‘GL’ is powered by a 150hp Lycoming O-320 and is fitted with flaps. She joined the fleet in 2015 after a full restoration and is much loved by all who fly her. The Cub is a classic aircraft and great for honing your stick-and-rudder skills. The Cub is used for tailwheel conversions and is ideal for the farm strip course. If classic aircraft appeal to you more than the Cessnas, you can also train for your LAPL or PPL on the Cub.
For a flight experience or Trial Lesson, the Cub is a little different to the usual training type and has that special ‘classic car’ feel.
